| Well after seeing the images of the charred American bodies being dragged around by Iraqi's on TV, I feel compelled to voice my opinion on the whole this so-called "War on Terror".
Does anyone know or has anyone asked, why did 911 happen and why does the Arab/Muslim world hate America? President Bush's view that the perpetrators did what they did because "they hate our freedoms."
If you believe that, you probably are a fan of FOX News and really believe that they are "Fair & Balanced". Wake up! Here is the answer: Our Foreign Policy.
One of these is our fervent support Israel and its policies. Numerous United Nations resolutions clearly define Israel's occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem as illegal. Yet Israel receives 40 percent of all US foreign aid, more than $3.5 billion annually in recent years. Israel uses all of this aid to build new settlements on Palestinian land and to buy US-made warplanes and helicopter gunships.
Why is Israel the largest recipient of US aide? A good question. I can think of a dozen other countries worthy of our money, I can't even think of why they even need aide in the first place. But, let me get to the nitty gritty of this rant. Our foreign policy and much of how our entire country is run is based on Politics. How does one influence our politicians? There are many ways, but the the most influential way is through Lobbyists. Guess which Lobby is the strongest, richest and most powerful? AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Commitee
How powerful is this Lobby, here is an example. A certain well known Senator appropriated $8 million to build a school and Synagogue for North African Jews in FRANCE! $8 million!!!! in freakin FRANCE! Who is this Senator? Our well beloved Senator Daniel Inouye. Just for your info: Pro-Israel contribution total to Sen. Inouye's campaign: $175,000
So, do you feel safer now that we invaded Iraq? If you do, George Bush Likes you! We're not, It has bred even more hate for us. But guess what country is safer? Yep, Israel.
